Students learningThe Royal College of Physicians Museum is delighted to offer on-site careers-focussed sessions for secondary schools.

Book your class onto a free interactive learning session that uses our historic collections to inspire and educate pupils about careers in medicine.

Through the unique RCP collections, pupils will explore the development of medicine, the range of jobs available in healthcare today and take part in activities that will help identify the skills, qualities and knowledge needed for a career in healthcare. 

The session has been developed with learning professionals with insights from the RCP Museum team to provide a quality learning experience. The session will be delivered by a trained member of the RCP Museum Team.

The sessions are free.

90 minutes.

How do we book?

Get in touch with us at history@rcp.ac.uk.

     Please provide preferred dates and times for your visit and we will discuss with you when a session leader and space in the building is available. Bookings must be made with as much notice as possible, and confirmed at least two weeks before delivery. 
     We are a small, busy team, and will reply to your enquiry within 10 working days.
 
Sessions are restricted to 20 pupils. The required school staff to pupil ratio is 1:10.
 
Contact information for the teacher/s attending on the day including phone numbers must be provided to confirm the booking.

How do we get to the RCP?

For directions on how to find us on our Visit Us pages. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate requests for parking but there is parking nearby.

We have limited car parking spaces available for disabled visitors please contact us to book these in advance.

Case study

On 23 May 2023 a group of eight Year 12 students from City of London Academy Highgate Hill took part in the careers-focused session at the RCP Museum. The session had been arranged through Islington Council's 100 hours World of Work programme and they joined the group.
