[(1) Dr Hamey says of him:- “Medicus bonus musicusque, linguæque Latinæ facultate vir præstans, adeòque sincerus, ut juxta fidem antiquam paræmiamque cum illo securè posses in tenebris micare. Hæc errant, quibus se oblectabat, quibus in sinu gaudebat, suosque eximiè ditabat; cæteris, quibus vulgus dives audit, insuper legume religione, in omnibus obsequebatur.”]
