Jeremiah Whitaker Newman was bred a surgeon, and practised for several years in that capacity in London. He was admitted an Extra-Licentiate of the College of Physicians 9th December, 1790, when he settled as a physician at Ringwood, in Hampshire, and died there 27th July, 1839, aged eighty.
