William Bernard, whose father was a Southampton man, matriculated at Wadham College, Oxford, in 1824, and took the degrees of B.A. in 1828, B.M. in 1832 and D.M. in 1836. Little is known of his subsequent career; his address is given as Brighton in the annual Lists of the Royal College of Physicians till 1846, and his name disappears from the Lists after 1867.
