Richard Adams, MD, a native of Marden, co Hereford, was first of St John’s college, Oxford, as a member of which he took the degree of AB 23rd March, 1671; but then removed to All Souls, and proceeded AM 16th October, 1675; MB 11th December, 1679; MD 9th July, 1684. He was admitted a Candidate of the College of Physicians, 22nd December, 1694. Dr Adams succeeded Dr Levett as principal of Magdalen hall, Oxford, and dying on the 5th January 1715-16, was buried in the church of St Peter-in-the East, Oxford, where he is commemorated by the following inscription: -
