Steve Marchant teaching

This half-term bring the family to a unique workshop that will encourage young people to explore their creativity and be inspired by the cartoons in our current exhibition ‘A taste of one’s own medicine’. Children, teenagers (and parents!) will learn the skills to create their own cartoon strips led by Steve Marchant cartoonist, learning coordinator and comic art advisor at the Cartoon Museum.

Exhibition, ‘A taste of one’s own medicine’ explores the ridiculed and the reviled in the satirical prints collection of the RCP. Join our workshop for an introduction to the exhibition before stepping into the classroom with cartoonist Steve Marchant. Inspired by the collection, learn how to create your own caricatures of famous individuals and build your own cartoon strip.

This workshop is recommended for children aged 8 – 14 years. Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event but accompanying adults are attend for free.

All materials and light refreshments will be provided.

This is a hybrid workshop - you can take part in person at the Royal College of Physicians’ home on the edge of Regent’s Park or join us online. For those joining online a link and instructions will be sent to you from the RCP team (history@rcp.ac.uk) prior to the event.
